Position Summary

The Driver (Motor Coach) for the Department of Facilities and Construction Management will safely operate transportation vehicles (automobiles, buses, vans, trucks) as required to transport passengers and deliver equipment, materials, and/or documents for University related purposes.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum Required Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years motor coach, school bus, or large vehicle experience.

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age with a satisfactory driving record.

Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications

Must possess a valid Class “B” or Class “A” Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must be able to work flexible hours.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate all University vehicles safely and efficiently, follow specific regularly scheduled routes and charter routes, and respond to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pickups or drop-offs.

• Use correct safety procedures to operate lift, secure wheelchairs and other assistive devices.

• Make timely reports of accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.

• Must comply with all provisions of the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) regulations.

• Perform other expanded and/or related duties as assigned.
