Position Summary

The Laboratory Technician will oversee and provide the day to-day operations of the Environmental Toxicology lab, including providing frequent instrument operation and instructions and assistance to faculty and graduate students. The individual will also maintain the analytical instruments, especially those involved with Environmental Analysis and Environmental Toxicology.


Minimum Required Education

Masters of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences or related sciences.

Minimum Required Experience

At least two (2) years of research experience.

Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

• Ability to understand lab machinery and computer programs for instruments.

• Ability to handle minimal lifting and stocking lab supplies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the analytical instruments, especially those involved with environmental analysis and environmental toxicology laboratories.

• Provide frequent instrument operations and instructions.

• Provide assistance to the faculty and graduate students.

• Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Environmental Toxicology lab.

• Assist in the design and implementation of toxicology studies.

• Assist in the maintenance of research equipment and supplies.

• Assist in the implementation of current and future research activities.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
